MARSE is a New Orleans-based specialty design company offering textiles and products for interiors, led by artist and designer Courtney Marse. Designs derive from original hand-illustrations inspired by the resonance in literature, flora, and aesthetics between her native Francophone Louisiana and France. MARSE products are manufactured in exclusive, micro-batch runs.
We believe spaces are meant for learning the rules, then choosing how to break them—spaces where we create with abstraction and contrast against the familiar.
Poetry plays a key role in MARSE, in that it provides the inspiration for seeing in more abstract ways, and allows new forms with which to articulate that vision. The poetry of words parallels the designs, providing a deeper approach to framing a concept. MARSE intends to evoke an echo of something from the past, much like a scent recalls a flood of memories—and to offer you a moment of inspiration that might pique your curiosity and lead you in new directions.
